Beth Heaton is an American national. Beth has worked for the KIPP Foundation in the USA for over 6 years. Currently there are over 57 KIPP schools in the USA supporting 14000 students in disadvantaged areas to succeed in their quest to gain entrance to American colleges and universities.
Beth’s role in KIPP is Director of Business Development and through this role she works extensively to coach and support school principals in their sustainability, direction and school leadership programs.
Beth has participated in approximately 10 school evaluations and is very experienced in coaching team members to develop effective school evaluation skills.
From May 2006 Beth has been Manager of Legal Services and Board Development with the KIPP Foundation. Prior to that Beth was employed by the KIPP Foundation as the Midwest Trailblazer. In this role she developed and managed strategy for opening KIPP schools in the Midwest United States: Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and Missouri. In this role Beth Built relationships with school districts, state boards of education, state charter authorizers, and local teachers’ unions to secure autonomous governance structures (charter, contract), funding and facilities for all new KIPP schools in the region. Also she Provided technical support to KIPP principals-in-training during the school start-up phase of KIPP fellowship year, including: identification and negotiation of facility, procurement of all supplies and materials, board and community development, operational support, grant writing, financial planning, student and teacher recruitment.
